DHAKA, Speakers at a discussion called upon imams to create awareness among the people for preventing dengue fever.
They made the call while speaking at a discussion on public awareness to prevent dengue at the Mirpur Jamiul Uloom Madrasah in the city on Sunday, said a press release today.
Mayor of the Dhaka North City Corporation (DNCC) Md Atiqul Islam attended the discussion as the chief guest.
State Minister for Industries Kamal Ahmed Mojumder and Principal Coordinator (SDG Affairs) of the Prime Minister's Office Md Abul Kalam Azad delivered speeches, among others, at the discussion.
Atiqul Islam urged the madrasah students to create awareness among the people for preventing dengue fever.
Kamal Mojumder said imam can create awareness among the people about dengue fever and Aedes mosquito through Juma Khutba.
He urged the Dhaka city corporations to take steps for cleaning the household garbage.
Abul Kalam Azad called for making teams comprising with the teachers and students of Madrasah for creating awareness among the people regarding dengue fever and Aedes mosquito.
