IM Neer Splits Point with Kazakhstan Rival in Asian Chess Championship

Al Ain: Bangladesh’s International Master (IM) and national champion Manon Reja Neer split point with his Kazakhstan rival IM Ansat Aldiyar in the second round open category of the Asian Individual Chess Championship, currently being held in Al Ain, United Arab Emirates. The second round matches took place yesterday evening.



According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, Bangladesh’s FIDE Master (FM) Tahsin Tajwar Zia secured a win against Sri Lankan Candidate Master (CM) Kodithuwakku Dinujaya in the open category. However, FM Sakline Mostafa Sajid faced a defeat against India’s Grand Master V Pranav.



In the women’s category, Woman FIDE Master (WFM) Noshin Anjum emerged victorious over her Indian opponent R Sunanda. Following the second round, IM Manon Reja Neer accumulated one and a half points, whereas FM Tahsin Tajwar Zia and WFM Noshin Anjum each garnered one point from two matches. FM Sakline Mostafa Sajid has yet to earn any points.
