Abu dhabi: Bangladesh International Master Mohammad Fahad Rahman shrugged off his previous match defeat as he defeated India's FIDE Master Arnav Agrawal in the second round masters event of the 32nd Abu Dhabi International Festival, which is now being held in Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates.
According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, earlier in the first round, IM Fahad lost to India's FIDE Master Binu Devdut. Despite this setback, Fahad showcased resilience and skill in his victory against Agrawal, bringing his current tally to one win and one loss from two games, securing him one point in the competition.
Looking ahead, Fahad is set to face Russia's Woman Grandmaster Valeria Kleymenova in the third round scheduled for tomorrow (Tuesday). The nine-round Swiss League event features 109 players from twenty-one countries, including seventeen Grandmasters, five Women Grandmasters, thirty-two International Masters, and four Women International Masters.
