Dhaka: The Islamic Foundation Bangladesh (IFB) has called upon all mosques nationwide to adhere to a uniform method of conducting Khatme Taraweeh prayers during the forthcoming holy month of Ramadan. This appeal was made through an official release issued by the IFB’s public relations department earlier today.

According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, the IFB highlighted the long-standing tradition of reciting specific ayats (verses) of the Holy Quran during Khatme Taraweeh prayers in mosques across the country. However, the organization has observed discrepancies in practices at some mosques. To maintain consistency, the IFB has proposed a schedule of reciting nine Paras in the first six days and one Para in the subsequent 21 days.

The IFB emphasized that such uniformity is vital for sustaining the continuity of Holy Quran recitation among devout Muslims, especially those who travel or are engaged in work. The release noted that inconsistencies in recitation practices could lead to dissatisfaction and mental stress among pious Muslims.

The organization suggested that by reciting nine Paras over the first six days, with one and a half Paras per day, and then one Para each for the remaining 21 days, it would be feasible to complete the Quran on the 27th night of Ramadan, coinciding with the night of Lailatul Qadr.

The IFB also urged respected Khatibs, Imams, Mosque Committees, and devotees to follow a specific schedule of Quranic Surahs and Verses during Taraweeh prayers across the country. The release detailed the daily recitation plan, starting with the First Taraweeh from Surah Fatiha and Surah Baqarah, and continuing through to the 27th Taraweeh, ending with Surah An-Nas.

This initiative is aimed at fostering a sense of unity and spiritual fulfillment among the Muslim community in Bangladesh during the sacred month of Ramadan.
