Dhaka: The Institution of Diploma Engineers, Bangladesh (IDEB), a professional organization representing diploma engineers and architects, has extended its congratulations to BNP Chairman Tarique Rahman following the party’s decisive victory in the 13th national parliamentary elections held on February 12.

According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, the IDEB also extended its congratulations to BNP leaders, activists, and the citizens of Bangladesh for this achievement. The celebratory message was delivered through a joint statement signed by IDEB’s Convener Engineer M Kabir Hossain and Member Secretary Engineer Quazi Shakawat Hossain.

The statement highlighted that the BNP’s victory, achieved after an extended period of democratic movement and struggle, demonstrates the people’s confidence and substantial support for the party under Tarique Rahman’s leadership. It underscores the electorate’s alignment with the BNP’s vision for the country’s future.

The IDEB noted that this victory resonates with the aspirations for progress, stability, and prosperity long held by Shaheed President Ziaur Rahman and Begum Khaleda Zia. The leaders of the organization expressed their hope that the new government, led by Tarique Rahman, will meet public expectations by reinforcing democratic values, fostering national unity, and enhancing the welfare of all citizens.

In line with the BNP’s commitments outlined in its 31-point programme and electoral manifesto, the IDEB pledged to support efforts to expand technical education and promote an economy that is skill-based, employment-oriented, and driven by technological advancement.

The statement also paid tribute to the contributions of Shaheed President Ziaur Rahman in 1978 and Prime Minister Begum Khaleda Zia in 1994, who significantly improved the quality and social standing of diploma engineers in Bangladesh.
