Dhaka: The investigation agency of the International Crimes Tribunal (ICT) has called upon the public to assist in identifying eight martyrs from the events of July, as part of ongoing investigations into the incidents.
According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, the Press Information Department (PID) of the government has released photographs of the deceased. The photos are accompanied by details such as approximate age, physical characteristics, religious affiliation, clothing, injury types, and locations where the bodies were found. The general diaries (GDs) indicate that all deaths were ante mortem and homicidal, with two victims bearing bullet wounds and one suffering head injuries.
The PID statement mentioned that the Anjuman Mufidul Islam organization interred 81 unidentified bodies at the Rayerbazar Killing Ground Graveyard. These bodies were retrieved from the morgue of Dhaka Medical College (DMC) following the July uprising. Investigations have confirmed that eight of these bodies are those of July martyrs.
The PID emphasized the importance of identifying these bodies to aid in the investigation process.
