ICMAB Celebrates Corporate Excellence with Awards Ceremony.

Dhaka: The Institute of Cost and Management Accountants of Bangladesh (ICMAB) today recognized 46 listed and non-listed organizations in 17 categories for their best corporate practices based on financial parameters and non-financial indicators. Winners of the ICMAB Best Corporate award are recognized with gold, silver, and bronze positions.

According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, a Jury Board chaired by Prof Dr Mohammed Farashuddin, Former Governor of Bangladesh Bank, Anis A. Khan, President, Board of Trustees, Bangladesh Cancer Aid Trust – BANCAT, and Muzaffar Ahmed, Executive President, Credit Rating Information and Services Ltd, reviewed the approved list of winners. The winners were evaluated and recommended by 45 expert members of the evaluation team of the Institute, said a press release.

Dr Salehuddin Ahmed, Adviser, Ministry of Finance, graced the occasion as the chief guest and handed over the awards to the winners at a gala event held at a city hotel. Sk Bashir Uddin, Commerce Adviser, Md. Seli
m Uddin, Secretary, Ministry of Commerce, and Md. Abdur Rahman Khan, Secretary, Internal Resources Division (IRD) and Chairman, National Board of Revenue (NBR), were present as special guests. Distinguished guests from various ministries, trade bodies, regulators, stakeholders, and the awardees attended the ceremony.

Arif Khan, Chairman of the Corporate Award Committee and past President of the Institute, delivered the welcome speech, while Mahtab Uddin Ahmed, President of ICMAB, delivered the presidential address. At the end, the secretary of the Institute, S.M. Zahir Uddin Haider, offered a vote of thanks.

Among the winners, in the State-Owned Commercial Bank (SOCB) category, Sonali Bank PLC, Rupali Bank PLC, and Agrani Bank PLC took the gold, silver, and bronze positions, respectively. In the private commercial bank category, BRAC Bank PLC secured gold, Eastern Bank PLC silver, and Dutch Bangla Bank PLC bronze. Shahjalal Islami Bank PLC won gold in the private commercial bank (Islamic Operation) category
.

In the Non-Bank Financial Institution (NBFI) category, IDLC Finance PLC, DBH Finance PLC, and IPDC Finance PLC won gold, silver, and bronze, respectively. Sena Insurance PLC, City Insurance PLC, and Reliance Insurance Limited were recognized in the non-life insurance category, while National Life Insurance PLC, Pragati Life Insurance Limited, and Sandhani Life Insurance Company Limited were acknowledged in the life insurance category.

Square Pharmaceuticals PLC, Renata PLC, and Beximco Pharmaceuticals Ltd were winners in the pharmaceuticals manufacturing category. Lafarge Holcim Bangladesh PLC, Crown Cement PLC, and Premier Cement Mills PLC topped the cement manufacturing category.

In the garments-textile manufacturing category, the awards went to Matin Spinning Mills PLC, Paramount Textile PLC, and Square Textiles PLC. Marico Bangladesh Limited, British American Tobacco Bangladesh PLC, and Reckitt Benckiser (Bangladesh) PLC took the top spots in the MNC manufacturing category.

BSRM Steels Limited, RAK
Ceramics (Bangladesh) Limited, and Social Marketing Company (SMC) led the other manufacturing category, while United Power Generation and Distribution Company Ltd and Doreen Power Generations and Systems Ltd were recognized in the power generation category.

Jamuna Oil Company Limited, Meghna Petroleum Limited, and Padma Oil Company Limited were the top winners in the oil, gas, and energy category. In the NGO category, BRAC, icddr,b, and Action Aid-Bangladesh were awarded. Olympic Industries Limited, Index Agro Industries Limited, and Agricultural Marketing Co Ltd were winners in the agro and food processing category.

Walton Hi-Tech Industries PLC and Bangladesh Submarine Cables PLC (BSCPCL) excelled in the trading and assembly category, while Grameenphone Ltd and Robi Axiata PLC topped the IT and Telecommunication (TELCO) category.
