Dhaka: Seven financially troubled banks have received Taka 6,585 crore as liquidity support from ten stronger banks, backed by guarantees from Bangladesh Bank (BB).
According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, the support is being provided without printing additional currency. The funds are managed through interbank lending under the central bank’s guarantee, as explained by Husneara Shikha, executive director and spokesperson of the central bank. She shared this information with reporters today, emphasizing the strategic approach to managing liquidity without increasing the money supply.
