Oaxaca: Hurricane Erick, a Category 4 storm, made landfall in the western Mexican state of Oaxaca, the US National Hurricane Center (NHC) reported. The storm is expected to cause flooding and mudslides in the region.



According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, the NHC announced that Hurricane Erick made landfall east of Punta Maldonado. The storm is characterized by estimated maximum sustained winds near 125 mph (205 km/h). The authorities are on alert as the storm progresses, with emergency services prepared for potential impacts on the local population and infrastructure.
