Housewife Killed in Collision Between Truck and Auto-Rickshaw in Pirojpur

Pirojpur: A housewife was killed and three others were injured in a road accident today when a goods-laden pickup truck collided with an auto-rickshaw in the Biswasbari Bridge area on the Mathbaria-Sapleza road under Mathbaria upazila.



According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, the deceased was identified as Maksuda Begum, aged 40, who was the wife of Md. Alamgir Hossain, a 50-year-old fruit trader from Bhaijora village in the upazila. Maksuda was a mother of two children.



The accident took place around 10:30am while Maksuda and two other family members were traveling from Sapleza Bazar to Mathbaria by auto-rickshaw. A pickup truck coming from the opposite direction collided with their vehicle.



The collision left the auto-rickshaw mangled, resulting in serious injuries to its driver and the two other passengers.



Md. Abdullah Al Mamun, the Officer-in-Charge of Mathbaria Police Station, confirmed the incident, stating that legal proceedings are currently underway.
