Barishal:A 25-year-old housewife was allegedly beaten to death by her husband following a family dispute in Babuganj upazila.
According to United News of Bangladesh, the deceased, Oishee Akter, was reportedly involved in an altercation with her husband, Sohel Khan, four days prior to the incident. The dispute escalated, leading to Sohel allegedly striking Oishee on the head with an iron rod and beating her severely.
As her condition worsened on Monday morning, Oishee was taken to Babuganj Upazila Health Complex. Dr. AK Manirul Islam, the health and family planning officer at the complex, stated that she died from excessive internal bleeding in the head. Doctors declared her dead around 730 am.
In connection with the incident, police have detained Sohel and his brother, Tanvir, for questioning.
