Horse Race Competition Brings Excitement to Thakurgaon.

Thakurgaon: A horse race competition took place at the Farabari Atimkhana ground, drawing thousands of spectators from nearby villages and distant locations. The event, which occurred on Wednesday, saw a large turnout as people gathered to enjoy the thrilling competition.

According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, the race featured forty competitors who were divided into three groups: A, B, and C. The competition was organized by the Akcha union BNP purbo shakha sadar upazila. After a series of exciting races, Groups ‘A’ and ‘B’ advanced to the final stage, with Group ‘B’ emerging victorious over Group ‘A’. Participants hailed from various districts, including Panchagarh, Dinajpur, and Shariatpur, showcasing a diverse range of talent.

District BNP Vice President Obaidullah Masud attended the event as the chief guest, with Union BNP president Mizanur Rahman Manik presiding over the proceedings. Other notable attendees included sadar upazila BNP president Abdul Hamid, general secretary Mahabub Hossain Tuhin, a
nd sadar jubadal president Rezaul Karim Liton. Leaders and activists from upazila and union BNP, along with other organizations, were also present to witness the competition.

The event was met with enthusiasm by spectators, many of whom expressed their excitement at the return of the horse racing competition after nearly a decade. They voiced a strong desire for the event to become an annual tradition, likening it to a significant festival in the rural setting.
