Dhaka: The home ministry has reassigned a total of 76 police officers, who were previously designated as officers on special duty (OSD) with the ministry, to new locations across the country.
According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, these officers were assigned to various offices within the police department through an official notification issued by Md Mahbubur Rahman, deputy secretary of the home ministry. The notification detailed the attachment of 11 OSD Deputy Inspectors General (DIGs), 56 Additional DIGs, and nine Superintendents of Police (SPs) to their new stations.
The DIGs reassigned include Shah Mizan Shafiur Rahman to Rangpur range, Miraz Uddin Ahmed to Sylhet range, Md Zakir Hossain Khan to Chattogram range, among others. Additionally, the list of Additional DIGs includes officers such as Mohammad Jayedul Alam for Rangpur range and Dr. Shamsunnahar for the same range, with assignments stretching across various police training centers and regional ranges.
For the Superintendents of Police, the reassignment involves Abdul Momen to Chattogram range, Kazi Ashraful Azim to Rangpur range, and SM Jahangir Alam Sarkar to Barishal range, to name a few. These reassignments are part of an ongoing effort to optimize the deployment of police personnel across the country’s various regions and specialized training centers.
