Dhaka: The Home Ministry today issued seven directives aimed at enhancing security measures within the Bangladesh Secretariat, located in the capital city.

According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, a public order was issued in this regard, signed by Md. Jasim Uddin, Joint Secretary of the Secretariat Security Branch of the Public Security Division of the Home Ministry. The order emphasized the significance of maintaining security at the Secretariat, described as the heart of the country’s administration, to ensure continuous order and safety across its premises.

The directives outlined include a prohibition on any form of procession, rally, or mass gathering within the Secretariat. Unauthorized meetings or conferences by professional organizations or societies are also banned in the conference rooms of various ministries and departments located inside.

For those needing to stay inside the Secretariat after 6:00 PM due to urgent official requirements, notification must be given to the Ministry of Home Affairs. Additionally, prior permission is required to stay for official purposes on weekends or other holidays. It is mandatory for officers and employees to keep their Secretariat entry passes visible at all times.

The directives further prohibit the distribution of leaflets and the hanging or placement of banners or festoons in any building or premises within the Secretariat. Security forces are tasked with conducting security checks on vehicles and individuals entering the premises to ensure compliance with these new measures.
