Mymensingh: Home Adviser Lieutenant General (retd) Md. Jahangir Alam Chowdhury has directed authorities to promptly address violations of the electoral code of conduct. He emphasized immediate justice for offenders while addressing a meeting on law and order at the Mymensingh City Corporation conference room.

According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, the adviser stressed that no individual should violate election laws. He instructed election officials and law enforcement personnel to adhere strictly to the Representation of the People (Amendment) Ordinance, 2025, the Code of Conduct for Political Parties and Candidates in Parliamentary Elections, 2025, and relevant directives from the Ministry of Home Affairs and the Election Commission.

Regular briefings and meetings at district and metropolitan levels were urged to ensure all officers and employees are well-informed about election activities. Emphasizing neutrality, the adviser insisted that officials with partisan histories or past election irregularities should not be assigned election duties.

The adviser also highlighted the importance of the ‘Nirbachan Surakhya App (Election Protection App) 2026’, developed by the National Telecommunication Monitoring Center (NTMC), for maintaining law and order by facilitating quick reporting and resolution of election-related issues. He urged for prompt completion of training on the app.

Additionally, the Home Adviser instructed officials to ensure proper preparation of polling stations, smooth access roads, and timely transportation of ballot boxes and election materials, to foster a safe and festive election environment.
