Manikganj: The Historic May Day and National Occupational Health and Safety Day – 2026 was observed in Manikganj with the theme “Healthy Workers, Productive Hands, A New Dawn Awaits”. The event highlighted the significance of worker health and safety and aimed to promote a secure and conducive working environment in all workplaces.
According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, a discussion was held at the conference room of the Deputy Commissioner Office of Manikganj to mark the occasion. The event was chaired by Additional Deputy Commissioner (Revenue) Mohammad All, with Additional Deputy Commissioner (General) Mohammad Ali and Industries Deputy General Inspector Md. Mozammel Hossain among the speakers. They emphasized the need for robust measures to ensure the well-being of workers, which in turn contributes to productivity and the overall economic development of the region.
Earlier in the day, a colorful rally was organized in the district town, starting from the Deputy Commissioner’s office. The rally marched through various roads and concluded back at the starting point, involving participants from various sectors demonstrating solidarity for the cause of worker safety.
