Mild to moderate heatwave is sweeping over different parts of the country, according to Bangladesh Meteorological Department (BMD).
According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, a Met office bulletin released this morning stated, “Mild to moderate heat wave is sweeping over Khulna division and the districts of Dhaka, Faridpur, Madaripur, Rajshahi, Pabna, Sirajgonj, Feni, Laxmipur, Rangamati, Bandarban and Patuakhali and it may continue.”
The forecast also predicts rain or thunder showers, along with temporary gusty winds and lightning flashes, likely to occur at one or two places within Rangpur, Rajshahi, Mymensingh, and Sylhet divisions. Additionally, hailstorms are expected at isolated locations within the next 24 hours, commencing from 9 am.
The bulletin further indicates that the weather may remain primarily dry with a temporary partly cloudy sky across the rest of the country. It also notes that while the day temperature may r
ise slightly, the night temperature is expected to remain nearly unchanged.
The highest temperature recorded on Thursday was 38 degrees Celsius in Jashore, whereas the minimum temperature today was 23.3 degrees Celsius in Tetulia under Rangpur division. The sun is set to set at 6:24 pm today and is expected to rise at 5:29 am tomorrow in Dhaka.
