Dhaka: Intense heat wave has been sweeping over the Chuadanga, Sirajganj, and some parts of Khulna division, which is likely to continue for the next two days. 'This heat wave will sweep from this afternoon till Sunday. However, the heat wave may ease on Monday,' sources in the met office said.
According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, Meteorologist Khandaker Hafizur Rahman confirmed that the current heat wave will prevail tomorrow and Sunday. The country recorded its highest temperature at 41.2 degrees Celsius in Chuadanga today, up from 39.7 degrees yesterday.
The met office reported that a mild to moderate heat wave is currently affecting various regions, including Rangpur, Dinajpur, Nilphamari, Rajarhat, Mymensingh, Moulvibazar, Rangamati, Chandpur, Feni, Noakhali, Chittagong, Bandarban, Barisal, and Patuakhali districts, as well as Dhaka, Rajshahi, and Khulna divisions. This heat wave may continue and intensify in certain areas over the next 72 hours from 2 pm today.
The lowest temperature recorded was 22.5 degrees Celsius in Dimla, Rangpur division. Additionally, night temperatures may see a slight increase.
