Heat Wave Likely to Persist Across Bangladesh

Dhaka: The Bangladesh Meteorological Department (BMD) has issued a forecast indicating that the ongoing heat wave will persist across various parts of the country, with expectations of further spread in the coming days.



According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, a severe heat wave is currently affecting the Jashore and Sirajganj districts, as well as the Dhaka and Barishal divisions. In addition, parts of the Rajshahi and Khulna divisions, along with Moulvibazar, Brahmanbaria, and Rangamati districts, are experiencing a mild to moderate heat wave, as detailed in a bulletin released by BMD meteorologist KH Hafizur Rahman.



BMD has predicted that the day temperatures may remain almost unchanged while the night temperatures could slightly decrease over the next 24 hours, beginning from 9:00 am today. The weather is expected to stay dry, with a temporary partly cloudy sky prevailing across the nation.



Jashore recorded the highest temperature of 41.0 degrees Celsius on Friday, while the lowest temperature in the country today was noted at 19.6 degrees Celsius in the Rajshahi district. In Dhaka, the sun is expected to set at 6:13 pm today and rise at 5:53 am tomorrow.
