Dhaka: Health officials today said they recorded 755 fresh cases of dengue onslaughts killing at least one person in the past 24 hours.
According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, during the period, 131 patients were hospitalised in Barishal division, 98 in Chattogram division, 187 in Dhaka division excluding the capital, 68 in Dhaka South City Corporation (DSCC) and 181 in Dhaka North City Corporation (DNCC) areas, 58 in Khulna division, 24 in Mymensingh division, six in Rangpur division, and two in Sylhet division, a Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS) statement said.
Since the start of the dengue onslaughts, Bangladesh has witnessed 243 deaths while the disease has inflicted 57,770 individuals so far this year. Last year, dengue claimed 575 lives and inflicted 101,214 people in the country.
