Health Officials Report 750 Fresh Cases of Dengue Infection, 1 Death Overnight

Dhaka: Health officials today said they recorded 750 fresh cases of dengue onslaughts killing at least one person in the past 24 hours.

According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, the Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS) provided a detailed breakdown of the hospitalizations across various divisions. Out of the 750 new cases, 121 patients were hospitalised in Barishal division, 96 in Chattogram division, 122 in Dhaka division, 47 in Dhaka South City Corporation (DSCC), and 61 in Dhaka North City Corporation (DNCC) areas. Additionally, Khulna division reported 173 hospitalizations, Mymensingh division 56, Rajshahi division 57, Rangpur division 14, and Sylhet division three.

Since the onset of the dengue onslaughts this year, Bangladesh has witnessed 77 deaths, with the disease affecting 27,022 people. This follows the previous year's statistics, where dengue claimed 413 lives and infected 102,861 individuals across the country. In 2024, the dengue outbreak resulted in 575 deaths and impacted 101,214 people.
