Barishal: Health officials today reported the detection of 430 new cases of dengue in the past 24 hours, with the majority of patients seeking treatment in the southwestern Barishal region.
According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, the Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS) detailed that 120 of these patients were hospitalised in the Barishal division. Other affected areas include the Chattogram division with 73 cases, Dhaka division excluding the capital with 67 cases, Dhaka South City Corporation (DSCC) with 64 cases, and Dhaka North City Corporation (DNCC) with 37 cases. Additionally, Khulna division recorded 26 cases, Mymensingh division seven cases, Rajshahi division 31 cases, and Rangpur division five cases.
Since the beginning of the dengue outbreak, Bangladesh has reported 118 deaths and 29,944 cases. In comparison, last year's dengue outbreak resulted in 575 deaths and affected 101,214 people across the country.
