Health Officials Report 356 Fresh Cases of Dengue Inflection Overnight

Dhaka: Health officials today said they recorded 356 fresh cases of dengue onslaughts in the past 24 hours.

According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, during this period, 60 of the patients were hospitalized in Barishal division, 68 in Chattogram division, and 60 in Dhaka division excluding the capital. Additionally, 71 cases were reported in Dhaka South City Corporation (DSCC) and 46 in Dhaka North City Corporation (DNCC) areas. The Khulna division accounted for 20 cases, Mymensingh division had four, Rajshahi division reported 20, and Sylhet division saw seven new cases, as per a Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS) statement.

Since the start of the dengue onslaughts, Bangladesh has witnessed 105 deaths and 27,471 people have been infected this year. In comparison, the previous year saw dengue claiming 575 lives and infecting 101,214 people across the country.
