Mymensingh: Health and Family Welfare Adviser Nurjahan Begum has emphasized the importance of research-based medical education to enhance public welfare. She highlighted the need for maintaining the quality of medical education and nurturing doctors with human values to better serve the community.
According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, Nurjahan Begum expressed these views during an interaction with teachers and students at Mymensingh Medical College Hospital. Her visit to the campus included an overview of various programs at the Mymensingh Medical College and Hospital.
The health adviser also visited the Habirbari Model Union health and family welfare center, where she inspected different wards and service departments. During her visit, she engaged with patients, inquiring about medical programs, drug availability, and the quality of medical services provided.
Local health administration officials, including Health Education and Family Welfare Division Secretary Dr. M Sarwar Bari, Director of Mymensingh Medical College Hospital Brigadier General M Golam Ferdous, Principal Professor Dr. Nazmul Alam Khan, and Deputy Commissioner of Mymensingh Mufidul Alam, were present during the occasion.
