Dhaka: A writ petition was filed with the High Court (HC) today seeking directives to close all schools across the country until the ongoing measles outbreak subsides.
According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, the petition also called for the formation of a high-level investigation committee to look into the recent deaths of 47 children caused by measles. Barrister Lutfe Jahan Purnima, a lawyer at the Supreme Court, filed the writ as public interest litigation with the concerned branch of the High Court.
