Dhaka: The Hajj Agencies Association of Bangladesh (HAAB), representing private Hajj agency owners, has announced the introduction of three Hajj packages for the 2026 pilgrimage, which will be managed privately. This announcement was made during a press conference held at a city hotel, highlighting the options available for Bangladeshi pilgrims.

According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, the HAAB outlined the details of the three packages, which are designed to cater to different financial capabilities of pilgrims. The special Hajj package is priced at Tk 7.50 lakh, while the general and affordable packages are set at Tk 5.50 lakh and Tk 5.10 lakh, respectively. The upcoming Hajj is tentatively scheduled for May 26, 2026, subject to the lunar calendar, with the first Hajj flight expected to commence on April 18, 2026.

The announcement comes as the association prepares to facilitate the pilgrimage for an estimated 127,198 pilgrims next year, a significant increase from the 87,100 pilgrims who participated in the Holy Hajj last year. The Hajj, being a two-state activity, is managed jointly by the Royal Saudi Government and the governments of the sending countries, with the Saudi government holding authority over policy-making aspects, including the announcement of the Hajj roadmap and the determination of necessary expenses.

The packages were prepared based on projected costs, reflecting the expenses from the previous year. However, HAAB leaders noted that any changes in costs on the Saudi side, as determined by the Royal Saudi Government, could affect the final package prices. Pilgrims may need to pay additional fees if prices increase, but any surplus will be refunded in case of a price decrease.
