Dhaka: Chief Adviser’s Press Secretary Shafiqul Alam on Monday emphasized that the interim government is vigilant against any orchestrated attempts to destabilize the country and disrupt the upcoming elections. “Those, who siphoned off billions of dollars and fled the country, have been taking well-orchestrated moves from abroad to destabilize the country,” Alam stated during a press briefing at a city hotel.

According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, Alam highlighted that the remnants of the fallen dictatorship, along with their allies and international forces, are conspiring to undermine the upcoming elections and cast doubt on their legitimacy. He assured that the government is closely monitoring these activities and is prepared to counteract any such attempts.

Alam also addressed the spread of fake news against Bangladesh, noting that Chief Adviser Professor Muhammad Yunus is actively informing world leaders about these misleading campaigns. He reiterated the critical importance of a democratic transition for Bangladesh and affirmed the interim government’s commitment to conducting free and fair elections scheduled for February next year.
