DHAKA Law, Justice and Parliamentary Affairs Minister Anisul Huq today said the government remained vigilant to ensure justice against the repression on women and children in the country.
The incumbent government will ensure justice against the rape incidents and violation of women and children and not let those matters go unpunished, he said.
He stated this while addressing an award giving ceremony at the auditorium of Krishibid Institution Bangladesh (KIB) here. Manusher Jonno Foundation (MJF) arranged the event.
Highlighting the successes of the present government regarding protection of human rights, he urged all, including non-governmental organisations (NGOs), to come forward to face the challenges of women and children.
A total of 10 human rights activists were awarded at the ceremony for their outstanding contributions to protecting human rights.
With MJF governing body member Parveen Mahmud in the chair, it was addressed, among others, by Swedish International Development Cooperation Agency (SIDA) head and deputy head of mission Christine Johansson, Department for International Development (DFID) country director Judith Herbertson and NGO Affairs Bureau director general KM Abdus Salam.
