Govt. to Deliberate on NCC’s Recommendations, BNP Hopes for Constitutional Basis

Dhaka: BNP Standing Committee Member Salahuddin Ahmed today expressed hope that the Advisory Council and the government will thoroughly discuss the recommendations of the National Consensus Commission (NCC) and adopt a process with a constitutional basis. He made these remarks to journalists after a meeting with Law Adviser Professor Asif Nazrul at the Law Ministry in the Secretariat.

According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, Salahuddin Ahmed stated that the NCC aimed to complete its activities by making some recommendations to alleviate its responsibilities. He emphasized the importance of the government and the Advisory Council engaging in comprehensive discussions on these recommendations to ensure that the adopted process aligns with constitutional principles.

Salahuddin Ahmed reiterated the need for a constitutionally grounded process, reflecting the BNP's position on ensuring that any government action follows the constitutional framework. The engagement with the Law Adviser indicates a step towards addressing the recommendations put forward by the NCC.
