Information and Broadcasting Minister Dr Hasan Mahmud that the government is sincere enough about the health recovery of Begum Khaleda Zia, but BNP is doing politics over her health issue.

The information minister said this while replying to a question from journalists after inaugurating the newly launched cable-car (ropeway) at Sheikh Russel Aviary Park in Rangunia here this evening.

โ€œEvery time Khaleda Zia went to the hospital, BNP said if Khaleda Zia was not sent abroad, her life would be put on danger and it would be difficult to save her. But every time by the grace of the almighty Allah, she returned home after treatment and service of Bangladeshi doctors in the hospital,โ€ he said.

Dr Hasan, also ruling Awami League (AL) joint general secretary, said still the government is doing everything necessary to ensure highest level of treatment for Begum Khaleda Zia, said a press release here.

Addressing the cable-car launching ceremony, Dr Hasan said, in fact, the way Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina is working to protect the country's environment and nature, it made the country's environment much better than before.

Countryโ€™s forest coverage has been increased, he said, adding simultaneously, the area of forest with trees has also been increased.

Sheikh Russel Aviary and Eco Park in Rangunia has been established as per the wish of Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina. More than ten years ago, a 2.4 km long cable car (ropeway) was installed in this park, he said.

Noting that the government has allocated more Taka 126 crore for the development of this park, he said, two kilometer additional cable-car will be installed from that fund making the 4.4 km longest ropeway in the country.

He said many species of foreign birds were released in Sheikh Russel Aviary Park which are not even seen in any safari parks of the country. Once the cable-car is launched in full swing, the first ever aviary park in the country will become a popular destination for tourists.

Chief Forest Conservator of Chattogram Region Bipul Krishna Das presided over the function while Project Director Gobinda Roy, DFO of Chattogram South Forest Division Abdullah Al Mamun, Rangunia Upazila Chairman valiant freedom fighter Swajan Kumar Talukdar and Upazila Nirbahi Officer Ataul Gani Osmani, among others, spoke on the occasion.
