Govt Pledges Support for Peaceful Religious Ceremonies Across Bangladesh: Jahangir Alam

Dhaka: Home Affairs and Agriculture Adviser Lt. Gen. Md. Jahangir Alam Chowdhury (retd) has assured that the people of Bangladesh, irrespective of their religious affiliations, will be able to observe their religious ceremonies without fear or hesitation. He emphasized that the current government will extend full support to ensure such freedoms.



According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, Lt. Gen. Md. Jahangir Alam made these remarks while speaking as the chief guest at the inauguration of the traditional Dhamrai Rath Jatra festival. The festival, organized by the Jashomadhav Temple Management Committee, marks a significant religious event for the Hindu community in the country.



The adviser highlighted the substantial improvements in the law and order situation in Bangladesh and expressed confidence that the situation could further improve with the cooperation of the people. He assured that the government is committed to providing every possible cooperation to ensure the smooth observance of religious festivals across all communities.



The eight-day Rath Jatra festival was inaugurated with a colorful procession, underscoring its vibrancy and significance. During the ceremony, Lt. Gen. Md. Jahangir Alam extended his greetings to the participants on behalf of the current interim government, wishing them a joyous and peaceful celebration.
