Dhaka:The government has implemented a new initiative to introduce common uniforms and midday meals in primary schools as a measure to foster equality among children. This decision follows directives from the Prime Minister, as announced by State Minister for Public Administration Md Abdul Bari during an event at BIAM Model School and College in Hatirjheel.

According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, Bari highlighted that 47 BIAM institutions are actively working to deliver quality education, with plans to expand these institutions to district and upazila levels. He emphasized the importance of innovative education to maintain competitiveness among the country's students on a global scale.

Bari also remarked on the significant achievements of women in various sectors, attributing this progress to the initiatives of Shaheed President Ziaur Rahman and the free education and stipend programmes for girls by former Prime Minister Begum Khaleda Zia. He commemorated the July Mass Uprising martyrs, noting their role in establishing a democratic government focused on upholding the rule of law and eliminating corruption and discrimination.

The minister outlined the government's efforts over the past eight months to bolster the nation's economic foundation. These efforts include controlling inflation, nearly doubling government salaries and allowances, boosting remittances and exports, and promoting job-oriented education.

Addressing students, Bari advised them to concentrate on their studies to secure a prosperous future and recommended limiting mobile phone use, avoiding solitary outings after dusk, steering clear of drugs, and showing empathy towards disadvantaged individuals.

The event was presided over by BIAM Foundation Director General Md Abdul Malek, with Principal Md Sazzadur Rahman, teachers, students, and senior officials from the college and the ministry in attendance.
