Dhaka: The interim government has acknowledged the legitimacy of all six demands made by the students of Milestone School and College. This decision follows the tragic incident involving a Bangladesh Air Force (BAF) fighter jet crash on the campus, which resulted in significant casualties.
According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, the Chief Adviser's press wing issued a statement confirming the government's stance. The interim administration's Education Adviser Prof. Dr. Chowdhury Rafiqul Abrar, Law, Justice and Parliamentary Affairs Adviser Dr. Asif Nazrul, and Press Secretary to the Chief Adviser Shafiqul Alam engaged in discussions with student representatives at the Milestone School and College campus in Uttara.
Following the discussions, Law Adviser Asif Nazrul addressed the media, revealing that a data center has been established on the campus. This center contains up-to-date information regarding the deceased, injured, and any missing individuals. The government is also making arrangements for compensation, rehabilitation, and trauma management support for the affected families.
Additionally, the government expressed regret over reports of students being beaten by army personnel during crowd control efforts. The authorities plan to inform the army to take suitable measures in response. Furthermore, the Bangladesh Air Force will be advised to avoid conducting training flights over densely populated areas to prevent future incidents.
