DHAKA, Jan 28, 2017 (BSS) - Law Minister Anisul Huq today said the present government is committed to ensuring rule of law and human rights in the country.
Terming human trafficking as a matter of concern in terms of human rights, the minister said, "The government has taken up different programs to ensure legal assistance for the poor and underprivileged section of the society."
Anisul said these while addressing the inaugural session of a seminar on experience sharing of national human rights institutions at Hotel Pan Pacific Sonargaon in the capital.
Organized by National Human Rights Commission, Bangladesh (NHRCB), the function was presided over by its chairman Kazi Reazul Hoque.
The function was also addressed by Indian national human rights commission chairman Justice HL Dutta, Bangladesh country director of UNDP Sudipto Mukherjee, noted lawyer Barrister M Amir-ul-Islam, retired judge of the Appellate Division Justice Amirul Kabir Chowdhury, among others.
