Gurudaspur: Finance Adviser Salehuddin Ahmed announced today that the government will make a final decision on implementing the National Pay Commission’s recommendations only after the formal report is submitted. “The National Pay Commission was established after a hiatus of 10 to 12 years,” he stated to reporters during a visit to the Gurudaspur Upazila Mini Stadium.

According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, Salehuddin assured the public that the commission is working diligently. He highlighted that several factors, particularly the availability of funds, need thorough consideration before any implementation can proceed. He urged citizens to remain patient and not to be discouraged during this process.

Addressing questions about a potential referendum, Dr. Salehuddin Ahmed emphasized the government’s dedication to reforms, asserting that a referendum is essential to gauge public opinion. He remarked on the significant progress in reform initiatives and explained that the referendum is intended to support the reform efforts of future administrations.

Before arriving in Gurudaspur, Dr. Salehuddin, who also manages the Ministry of Science and Technology, conducted a field inspection at the Rooppur Nuclear Power Plant construction site. During his visit, he assessed the project’s progress and engaged in discussions with the relevant project officials.
