Dhaka: Youth and Sports Adviser Asif Mahmud Shojib Bhuyain announced today that the council of advisers has approved the draft of the ‘National Youth Entrepreneurship Development Policy 2025’. This announcement was made during a press briefing at the Foreign Service Academy following a meeting held at the Chief Adviser’s Office, chaired by Chief Adviser Professor Muhammad Yunus.

According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, the policy is designed to support entrepreneurs as approximately 2.2 million youths enter the workforce annually. The policy includes the establishment of a youth entrepreneur research and monitoring centre to study the challenges faced by entrepreneurs nationwide.

The policy will be implemented in coordination with the Youth and Sports Ministry and the Department of Youth Development, which will organize annual entrepreneur fairs at district and upazila levels. The initiative aims to empower youth as key drivers of social, economic, and environmental progress by fostering innovation and entrepreneurship. It also seeks to increase youth involvement in governance and social development by encouraging their participation in decision-making processes.

As part of the policy, ‘Youth Shops’ will be created to market products made by young entrepreneurs. Additionally, various fairs at local, regional, national, and international levels will be organized to ensure young entrepreneurs can participate and showcase their innovations.

Law Adviser Dr. Asif Nazrul and Chief Adviser’s Press Secretary Shafiqul Alam were also present at the press briefing.
