Dhaka: The Dhaka University (DU) authorities have partially reopened the university’s swimming pool after a year-long closure. DU Vice Chancellor Prof. Niaz Ahmad Khan inaugurated the reopening ceremony as the chief guest on Monday evening.
According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, the authorities have announced that full-scale swimming sessions and training programs for students will resume once the remaining renovations are completed. These renovations include the appointment of lifeguards and the implementation of enhanced safety measures to ensure the well-being of all users.
The event was presided over by Treasurer Prof. M Jahangir Alam Chowdhury. It was also attended by other distinguished guests including Pro-Vice Chancellor (Administration) Prof. Sayema Haque Bidisha, Bangladesh Public Service Commission Member Prof. Md. Sharif Hossain, Proctor Associate Prof. Saifuddin Ahmed, Advisor to the Physical Education Center Prof. Dr. S. M. Mostafa Al Mamun, and Acting Director S. M. Zakaria.
