Govt Announces Detailed Plans for Martyred Intellectuals’ Day Observance

Dhaka: The government has unveiled extensive plans to observe Martyred Intellectuals' Day on December 14 in a fitting manner. These plans were formulated during an inter-ministerial meeting led by the Ministry of Liberation War Affairs, as per an official release.

According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, the President and the Chief Adviser are scheduled to lay wreaths at the Mirpur Martyred Intellectuals Memorial in Dhaka. Subsequently, the adviser and secretary of the Ministry of Liberation War Affairs will lay wreaths at the Intellectuals Memorial and the Rayer Bazar Baddyo Bhumi, accompanied by the families of the martyred intellectuals.

The wreath-laying ceremony will be broadcast live on Bangladesh Television and Bangladesh Betar, along with other private television channels. Educational institutions across the district and upazila levels, including schools, colleges, and madrasas, will conduct discussions at convenient times to commemorate the day.

Additionally, prayers will be held in all mosques, temples, churches, pagodas, and other places of worship throughout the country to seek blessings for the souls of the martyred intellectuals.
