Dhaka: Road Transport and Bridges Adviser Muhammad Fouzul Kabir Khan announced today that the government is making every effort to complete road repairs by the 15th of Ramadan to ensure a smooth journey for travelers during Eid.

According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, Adviser Fouzul Kabir Khan addressed journalists after a meeting with officials from the Ministry of Road Transport, Bridges, and Railways at Bijoy Hall. The meeting focused on facilitating a comfortable, faster, and safer journey for home-bound citizens ahead of Eid-ul-Fitr. Fouzul, who also serves as the railways ministry adviser, emphasized that authorities are diligently working alongside the government to repair roads nationwide.

Fouzul Kabir Khan further explained that closed-circuit televisions (CCTVs) will be installed at bus and water transport terminals to enhance passenger safety as Eid approaches. He noted that approximately one to one-and-a-half crore people travel to their hometowns to celebrate Eid with family each year.

To combat potential roadway robberies, the adviser stated that the number of law enforcement officers would be increased. Additionally, a committee will be established, in collaboration with the Bangladesh Road Transport Authority and city corporations, to address issues of passenger harassment and black ticketing during the Eid travel period.
