Dhaka: State Minister for Information and Broadcasting Yasser Khan Choudhury emphasized the government's commitment to freedom of press and the free flow of information. He highlighted the potential of IPTV platforms as powerful tools for amplifying marginalized voices, urging them to avoid spreading misinformation and adhere to state regulations.
According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, the remarks were made during a discussion with members of the Association of IPTV Owners Bangladesh at the Press Information Department's conference room. Prime Minister's Adviser Dr. Zahed Ur Rahman underscored the importance of professionalism and objective reporting by IPTVs, especially in the context of creating a digital Bangladesh.
Dr. Rahman called for collaboration between the association and the government to ensure the orderly development of the IPTV sector. During the meeting, association leaders discussed the challenges and opportunities related to IPTV registration and operations, stressing the need for government backing and clear policy formulation for sector growth. Senior officials from the Press Information Department were also present at the meeting.
