Dhaka: The government has announced its expenditure target for the fiscal year 2025-26, setting it at Tk 7.90 lakh crore. This represents a reduction of Tk 7,000 crore from the current fiscal year’s budget. Youth and Sports Adviser Asif Mahmud Shojib Bhuiyan disclosed this information through a post on his verified Facebook account.
According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, the interim government is aiming for a more restrained budget compared to the previous one. The objective is to help restore macroeconomic stability and control inflation. Finance Adviser Dr. Salehuddin Ahmed is scheduled to formally present the national budget for FY 2025-26 to the nation tomorrow.
