Dhaka: Home Adviser Lieutenant General (Retd.) Md Jahangir Alam Chowdhury has stated that the issue concerning the government’s initiative to amend the Government Service Act-2018 can be resolved through discussions.
According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, Jahangir made this remark while addressing a question following a meeting focused on enhancing the management of cattle markets and rawhide sales at his ministry office in the Bangladesh Secretariat. The adviser’s comments come amidst ongoing agitation by employees at the Bangladesh Secretariat, who are demanding the withdrawal of the Government Service (Amendment) Ordinance, 2025, which received initial approval from the Council of Advisers on May 22.
