Sunamganj: The district administration has successfully recovered government khas land valued at approximately Tk 10 crore in the Launchghat area, a key location in the Sunamganj district town, by demolishing illegal structures.
According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, about 31 decimals of government-owned Khas Khatian land in the Launchghat area had been under illegal occupation for an extended period. A drive, initiated by the district administration, was carried out to clear the encroachments. The operation was spearheaded by Sadar Upazila Assistant Commissioner (Land) Aditya Pal.
Sadar Upazila Assistant Commissioner (Land) Aditya Pal informed BSS that the retrieval of this significant government land in the town's center was accomplished after considerable effort. He further mentioned that legal action would be pursued against those involved in the illegal felling of trees on the government land.
Additional Deputy Commissioner (Revenue) Samar Kumar Pal also verified the recovery of the land and stated that those accountable for the unauthorized cutting of trees would face legal proceedings.
