Dhaka:BNP standing committee member and Dhaka-3 lawmaker Gayeshwar Chandra Roy stated that the government is committed to maintaining peace and communal harmony during the Durga Puja celebrations.
According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, Gayeshwar made these remarks while attending a ceremony at Brahmangaon Shiva Temple and Durga Temple in Konda Union, South Keraniganj, where gifts and financial assistance were distributed.
He noted that there were attempts to spread rumors, misinformation, and panic concerning the festival. He urged everyone to stay vigilant and mentioned that BNP leaders and activists would collaborate with the administration and law enforcement agencies to ensure the security of Puja mandaps and provide necessary assistance around the clock.
