Dhaka: The government has introduced a mandatory pass system for bikers to obtain fuel from seven specific filling stations in an effort to manage petroleum distribution amid an ongoing energy crisis linked to the Middle East situation. This new system requires bikers to register online through an app before accessing octane or petrol at the designated locations within the capital.

According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, the Energy Division announced the scheme overnight via a notification on its Facebook page. Bikers must download and install the ‘fuel pass’ app, complete the registration process, and present the pass at the specified stations to receive fuel.

The designated filling stations are Sonar Bangla Service Station at Asadgate, Trust Filling Station at Tejgaon, Gulshan Service Station at Mohakhali, Meghna Model Pump at Shahbagh, Nikunja Model Service Centre at Nikunja, Khalek Service Station at Mirpur Darussalam, and Talukdar Filling Station at Asadgate.

The Energy Division clarified that this bikers’ fuel pass system is initially being implemented as a ‘pilot’ scheme at the seven stations. However, it is expected to become mandatory for all filling stations in the capital in the future. Bikers are urged to download the pass from the Google Play Store or the designated website to ensure compliance with the new regulations.
