Habiganj: A farmers’ gathering was held under the initiative of the District Information Office, organized on Thursday afternoon at the Sadar Upazila Parishad hall room. National Parliament Whip G.K. Gaus attended the event as the chief guest, while Acting Deputy Commissioner of Habiganj Md. Abul Hashem and Acting Sadar Upazila Nirbahi Officer Shimul Akter participated as special guests. The meeting was chaired by Acting Deputy Director of the District Information Office Md. Walidur Rahman.
According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, Whip G.K. Gaus emphasized various government initiatives aimed at supporting farmers. These included the Family Card programme, Farmer Card, agricultural loan waivers, crop insurance, agriculture-related training, tree plantation, and canal excavation projects. He expressed optimism that with the support of Prime Minister Tarique Rahman, all necessary demands for the development of the people of Habiganj would be met.
