Dhaka: The government has implemented measures to ensure the swift disposal of sacrificial animal waste to maintain environmental safety during the upcoming holy Eid-ul Adha.
According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, an official handout released today highlighted that authorities have requested the public to preserve the hides of sacrificial animals appropriately.
The strategies were formulated during a recent inter-ministerial meeting at the Ministry of Religious Affairs, chaired by Religious Affairs Adviser Dr. AFM Khalid Hossain. Imams citywide were instructed to raise awareness about proper waste disposal and hide management during their khutbas at sacrificial animal markets. Additionally, directives will be issued to Madrasah authorities regarding the preservation of hides using salt.
In celebration of Eid, national flags will be hoisted at various public and private establishments, while banners inscribed with “Eid Mubarak” will adorn main roads and road islands. Arrangements have been made for underprivileged children to visit Shishu Parks and city tourist spots without tickets on Eid day.
Friendly football matches and a children’s Eid reunion will be held at the Shishu Academy. The main Eid jammat is scheduled for 7:30 am at the national Eidgah, contingent on favorable weather. In case of inclement weather, the jammat will occur at Baitul Mukarram Mosque at 8 am, with any changes to be broadcasted via electronic media.
Diplomats from Muslim countries will be invited to the Eid congregation at the National Eidgah, where a special medical team will be on standby. State-owned and private media, including Bangladesh Betar and Bangladesh Television, plan to broadcast special programs for the holy Eid-ul Adha. Religious Affairs Secretary AKM Aftab Hossain Pramanik has called for widespread cooperation to ensure the success of the Eid-ul Adha programs.
