Narayanganj:Food Minister Afroza Khanam stated today that the government will prevent any syndicate from influencing the market, assuring that the current food supply remains stable due to sufficient stocks in government warehouses.
According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, Afroza Khanam made these comments during a visit to several food processing and storage facilities in Narayanganj, including the Postogola Government Modern Flour Mill, a wheat silo, the Premix Kernel Factory, and a modern laboratory.
During her visit, the minister emphasized the government's commitment, under Prime Minister Tarique Rahman's leadership, to addressing the country's challenges. She assured that existing problems will be resolved gradually based on their importance.
Afroza Khanam engaged with officials and employees at the facilities, discussing operational issues and promising prompt action to address these concerns. At the wheat silo in Siddhirganj, officials briefed her on its capacity and operations, while at the Premix Kernel Factory and Modern Lab, she received updates on nutrient-enriched rice production and food testing.
The inspection tour also included the CSD and Steel Rice Silo in the Bandar area. Accompanying the minister were Narayanganj-5 constituency lawmaker Abul Kalam, Food Secretary Abu Taher Md Masud Rana, Directorate General of Food Director General Md Jasim Uddin Khan, along with other local officials.
