Dhaka: The government has granted permission for the import of 18.80 crore eggs through 42 designated firms in an effort to stabilize the egg market. This decision was made by the Ministry of Commerce as part of measures to stabilize prices and ensure the steady availability of this essential commodity in the country.

According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, the ministry has announced that the import permission will remain valid until January 31, 2025. This initiative aims to address the current fluctuations in egg prices and supply shortages, thereby benefiting consumers and maintaining market balance.
