Good Initiatives Must Be Nurtured, Says Shimul Biswas

Pabna: Pabna-5 constituency Member of Parliament Advocate Shamsur Rahman Shimul Biswas today emphasized the importance of nurturing good initiatives in society, contrasting them with the ease at which bad practices proliferate. He was speaking as the chief guest at a discussion held to mark International Thalassaemia Day-2026 at the VIP auditorium of Pabna Press Club this morning.



According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, the event was organized under the theme “Let Us Find Undiagnosed Thalassaemia Patients and Stand Beside Them.” Shimul Biswas commended the organizers for dedicating resources to humanitarian causes and called for collective support to bolster such efforts. He urged the community to demonstrate empathy towards thalassaemia patients, encouraging societal support filled with humanity and hope.



Other notable speakers included Medicine Specialist Dr. Captain (Retd.) Sarwar Jahan Faiz and Additional Deputy Commissioner (Development and Human Resource Management) Liton. The speakers underscored the urgent need for specialized treatment facilities, free healthcare services, a donor-funded support system, and modern medical equipment to enhance thalassaemia management within the district.
